Luke Gower at Hive Plumbing & Gas is a Certification Authority and Vehicle Inspector who can help ensure your self-contained vehicle complies with the regulations to be certified as self-contained under the green warrant system.
New Zealand’s new self-contained vehicles (SCV) system began on 7 December 2023.
Changes were made to the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Act 2006 and the Freedom Camping Act 2011 to establish a new regulatory system for certifying and registering SCVs used for freedom camping. The changes were made to strengthen the rules around freedom camping and protect Aotearoa New Zealand’s natural environment.
The Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayer’s Board is the regulator of the SCV system.
